Adobe just announced the immediate availability of the all-new CC 2017 release, with hundreds of new features and enhancements across their creative product line focusing on innovative new tools, improved performance, smoother workflow & connectivity, and some of that Adobe magic… Creative Cloud 2017 is the next major release following the CC 2015, CC 2014, and CC 2013 versions, which in turn replaced CS6 from 2012.
The 15 upgraded desktop applications are Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, InCopy, Animate (formerly Flash Pro), Muse, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Character Animator, Audition, Prelude, Media Encoder, Bridge, and Experience Design (XD). As before, the new tools and services are available via budget-friendly annual or monthly memberships. Creative Cloud membership continues to expand at an accelerating pace around the world, with now over 22 million paid customers having signed up.

What You Should Know About the 2017 Release

The CC 2017 applications are complete new builds of the tools and not just 'in place' feature updates to the existing versions. When upgrading your system, the CC Desktop App will, by default, uninstall prior CC (not CS) versions on your machine, so that you just have the latest release… It will automatically migrate your presets, preferences and any compatible add-ons; however it will not migrate third-party plug-ins.
If you do not want it to uninstall your prior versions – for third-party compatibility reasons or just to wait until you're comfortable with the new CC 2017 version – then click on 'Advanced Options' and uncheck 'Remove old versions.' In all cases, per usual, you'll have to reinstall any third-party plug-ins and extension panels after you upgrade. For more information and details, please see this guide. So, it's up to you: if you choose, CC 2017 will install and run alongside CC 2015, CS6, CS5, or any older CS versions with no problem (and some people do this), or you can have the the older release(s) removed. Of course, if you use the CC 2017 direct download links instead of the Desktop App, then you have full control of everything yourself.
In any event, as a Creative Cloud member you always have access to older CC 2015, CC 2014, CC 2013, and CS6 versions available in an online archive for all subscribers to download and use if/when needed. So if you ever uninstall an earlier version that you want back later, it's there for you. If you're trying out CC 2017 and decide to join when the free trial period is up, you can easily convert your trial to ongoing use without reinstalling the software.
Also important to know is that the system requirements for Mac have changed… The CC 2017 release now requires Mac OS X 10.10 ('Yosemite') or higher. If you're not running that yet, then you can get a free upgrade from Apple to the latest version of macOS 10.12 Sierra. Or instead you can continue to use the older CC 2015.5 applications. Yes – the new release of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 is just out and now shipping! There was no beta version/period this time, so we go straight to the final product. And as in the past, this release will work side-by-side with any previous revisions of Lightroom you may have. If you've got an earlier version installed on your system(s), Lightroom 6 will ask if you'd like to upgrade your catalog and copy everything over.
This new version continues as a downloadable desktop product and is available either with a standalone perpetual license (called Lightroom 6) or via subscription (called Lightroom CC). It begins as the same program and free trial download below, but the name is changed to reflect the differences in licensing and bundling, as well as the addition of integrated mobile apps & services plus future feature updates (such as the new Dehaze filter or Boundary Warp function).

Lightroom CC 2015 is included as a free upgrade (together with Photoshop CC) in the popular CC Photography Plan – as well as one the many applications that all subscribers get with the complete Adobe Creative Cloud.
